The visit starts in the new building at Hopland 13. Through an audiovisual show, interactive applications and original objects, including Rubens's self-portrait, you follow his career from Antwerp to Rome, London, Paris and Madrid, as artist, diplomat, husband and father.
Experience zones show his paintings life-size and in close detail on screens.
Then out into the garden, replanted in 2024 with 17,500 plants: parterres, roses, peonies, tulips and potted citrus, inspired by Rubens's painting 'The Walk in the Garden'. The portico and the pavilion he designed close the view.
The library, with about 100,000 publications, is free and open on weekdays.
